Creation and Covenant – Branch 1

“The heavens are telling the glory of God” (Ps 19:1). In this foundational branch, the curriculum begins the story of salvation history by exploring how “pupils will encounter the God who creates and calls a people.” It establishes the ultimate premise of the Christian faith: “that all that is comes from God.” By examining both the revelation of Creation and the subsequent covenants forged with figures like Abraham and Moses, this branch grounds the learner in the understanding that humanity was made for a relationship with the Creator, while also acknowledging that this relationship was wounded by the Fall.
This branch serves as the necessary starting point for the entire curriculum. Because the “harmony between the Creator, humanity and Creation was disrupted,” the covenants established here represent God’s initial efforts to restore that bond. This directly leads into the second branch, “Prophecy and Promise,” by establishing the need for God to continually reach out to His people and form them “in the hope of salvation, in the expectation of a new and everlasting covenant.”
